This is not a blog about cutting books into pieces. This is a blog about reading books, hairdressing and living in London – three things that define a big part of who I am.

I used to be a full-time hairdresser but I always loved books and four years ago I decided to follow my dream and study English Literature. I studied at Birkbeck College, University of London, and it was a wonderful adventure which sadly and inevitably had to come to an end (I graduated in June 2014). I was very fortunate to enter my dream career of publishing while still studying and that is when I stopped hairdressing full-time. But I do it in spare moments and enjoy it even more than before.

I want this blog to be focused mainly on book reviewing and bookish things that happen in London. Not having lectures and seminars to attend anymore left me with a void – I miss being around people who love books and reading as much as I do. I hope this blog will help me to fill that gap. From time to time, however, I may let myself post some of my random jottings from non-bookish spheres of my life (hair, zumba, highs and lows of living in London). But that’s ok as long as I am writing … regularly!

Writing a blog isn’t something that comes to me naturally, because I’m shy, so please be kind, I have a lot to learn!

  1. It’s cool. I like reading too. But I think it’s still difficult for me to write book review in English 😦

  2. Love your blog name; want to read The Miniaturist! Look forward to following you.

  3. Hello: Dropped in for a visit to your site. Just read the tweet about leaving for Paris in the sidebar posted on February 11. How exciting! Can’t wait to hear all about it on your blog!
Be safe and have a most excellent time!
    All my best to you.
